I provide yoga as an integrative treatment in addition to counseling services. Psychotherapy, the traditional talk therapy, allows you to identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Yoga gives you the opportunity to develop self-awareness in a physical way. Yoga allows you to connect your mind and your body, so you can be more present and aware of what is happening in your body as emotions come up.
Yoga has been shown to have many positive effects in addressing the symptoms of:
-depression,
-anxiety,
-insomnia,
-stress, and
-general well-being.
Both, yoga and counseling promote self-awareness in their own ways. Together, they form a holistic approach to developing a healthy integrated self. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and with your permission, I can weave yoga into the session to provide you with additional tools to address the self-awareness.
